Virtual Communities of Practice are social networks that join people of same profession or hobby. The members of these virtual communities can be experts or beginners, and their main communication and collaboration environment is Internet. The main task of the community is to support the professional development of their members. For instance, in the educational system community can be formed by subject teachers, class teachers, school information specialists – educational technologists, school psychologists, headmasters etc. Good meeting ground for establishing communities are the in-service training courses for teachers that partly take place at the e-learning environment. These environments do not contain just learning and administrative materials but also provide a forum which upon active usage can become more effective than any academic lecture. Premise for springing up a community of practice is a group of people of interest, community initiator or leader and an available environment.
