Training of teachers
DigiDirector

Application of information technology in the school - like in any other organization - depends greatly on the attitude and readiness of the top management. Estonian schools need directors who are capable and willing to make decisions upon establishing, applying and introducing information systems that are needed for schools. To make right decisions the school directors must also be provided with necessary ICT knowledge and skills. Directors do not achieve this know-how from lectures but in discussion with colleagues, exchanging experiences with other school directors from other countries.

2005 witnessed the start of a collaboration project between Tiger Leap Foundation and BCS Training, which resulted in a complex seminar programme for school director training. According to the developed programme training courses for school directors are organized in several Estonian counties during the next upcoming years. This is a first bigger sub-project of the DigiDirector programme.
The training helps to get an overview of the information and communication technology in the school and about the role of top management in this development, gives directions how to further develop the use of technology in a most effective and painless way.
